John Wesley Jeffries
There was a double homicide in Fauquier County on Sunday. Police have identified an apparent suspect in the death of Nelson Slack, 80, and Ethel Slack, 74, who were found dead at 7282 Bunker Hill Rd with trauma to the upper body of both victims, according to a statement by the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.
Police are looking for John Wesley Jeffries, 60, of Fredericksburg; although Lt. James Hartman spokesman for the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office said Jeffries has not been charged with homicide in the case. Hartman said the Sheriff’s Office just wants to question him about what he knows about the case.
Deputies visited the Slack’s home to check on them after concerned friends reported they were not at church that morning. A BOLO was broadcast when they discovered the house locked and the couple’s car missing.
The couple was discovered around 1:15 pm when deputies returned to the Slack’s home with a family member and forced entry to the house finding the Slack’s bodies.
A vehicle believed to be Jeffries’ was found near the Slack’s home. The Slack’s vehicle was later recovered in Fredericksburg.
Jeffries is a violent sex offender and is considered armed and dangerous.
Jeffries is also wanted on unrelated felony charges including abduction, strangling and malicious wounding by the Spotsylvania authorities.
Anyone who believes they know the whereabouts of Jeffries should avoid contact ant call 911 immediately.

Scary stuff. My thoughts are with the family and the plains community. You know, it makes all this other stuff look pretty insignificant.

Scary stuff, indeed, and our prayers are with the family. It’s a shame that the county is cutting the budget on protecting its citizens from crime, and wasting money on so many other things. The county is ignoring protecting its citizens from lethal crime, domestic violence, and all the things it is supposed to do, and is more worried about whether a winery has a pizza oven, or whether a farmer has a birthday party under the false pretense of “health, safety and welfare” of the community. FTD reports on how firefighters in Marshall are limited in access to water to fight fires. These things are very significant because we citizens are put in danger by corruptocrats.
