The true story of thanksgiving – it’s not what you’ve been told

This eight and a half minute video tells the true story of the first Thanksgiving.

It’s probably a bit different than you were told as a child, but I think if you do your own research (The narrator has. There are surviving documents including the diary of  William Bradford), you will find some lessons in the truth.

The Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth with a plan for living in commune style settlement – a sharing regardless of how hard you worked. It didn’t work and the community was on the verge of failing. Their Compact was ammended and people were allowed to keep most of the fruits of their labor. They prospered from then on. Capitalism works, Socialism doesn’t. John Green
